Elizabeth Woodyard: ELAN Project

February 15, 2010

Dear Prof. Payne,

Congratulations! You have been recommended for inclusion in the Recognizing Artists: Enfin Visible! (RAEV) project. This community portrait is being created by the English Language Arts Network (ELAN) with assistance from the Department of Canadian Heritage's new Cultural Development Fund.  Two hundred artists from all disciplines and all regions of Quebec will be featured in this portrait.

In phase II of the project (summer 2010), juries will select 100 artists who personify the depth and diversity of talent in our community. These 100 artists will be featured in detailed print profiles. ELAN will also commission mini-documentary video portraits of 30 artists. The print and video documentation will be distributed widely to promote the artistic community of English-speaking artists in Quebec.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Jimmie Earl Perry: Hello MJGC

It’s been a long journey to here and you were all very much part of that journey.Living and working in South Africa for 6 years now, I am constantly reminded of our Celebration in song to Nelson Mandela at Place D’Armes and Mr. Mandela embracing me after singing "To The Glory of God"...a moment I will never forget.

Saving lives with education on HIV/AIDS has become a great advocacy for me thru music and theatre.I am a UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in South Africa as well.

Kat Dyson and I have remained friends for all these years. She just completed a few tracks on my new CD and she is as talented and wiser than ever.

We are all blessed to have her touch our lives in so many ways.

Keep up the fabulous and inspirational music.

Much Love to you all.

Ralph Mastromonaco: SOBA Award

Good morning and Congratulations Trevor,

I hope you are doing well first and foremost health wise and what a great way to start the new year! It only took 30 years for people to notice what you have been doing …just kidding of course.

We all know the well deserved international reputation of the choir. The work of a choir, like all music really, is certainly a collaborative effort but truly creative and successful collaboration is not possible without leadership and vision and in this regard your stewardship and mentorship of the choir over the last 30 years as choir director and artistic director has been consistently exceptional and this regardless of the ups and downs of your ‘personal life’.

So you did good Payne. Enjoy the moment and then get back to work. It might take another 30 years to get your next award.

Let’s get together soon for lunch. Yes it is my turn to pay.

Trevor,

I read your bio and have to let you know that all students knew that you were special and excelled in music with your entertainment of singing and piano playing in high school.

Met Joan Bobinski in Ft. Lauderdale years ago (she was a neighbour of my cousin) and she had very found memories of your brother. Also, got to see another brother (Malcom) racing in the Grand Prix.  Your family is amazing and so well accomplished.

Congratulations on receiving The Order of Canada!  You certainly deserve it.

Tammy Terrell ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): WOW !!!! thank u !!!

Hi Dr.Payne,

Hope you enjoyed your xmas and you enjoyed the quality time spent with family...

At the Choir's party @ upstairs, you gave everyone enveloppes.... being someone who always waits till the 25th to open up gifts, I put it under my tree.... and when I opened it yesterday I jumped with joy !! :)

I wanted to go shopping on the 26th but I had no money to go shopping with...!

BUT above all that, I was EXTREMELY touched by your generosity !!! May God double and triple your blessings !

You make me think of the Talents Parable in Matthew 25.... The master entrusts different things to 3 servants, and 2 of them put them to use, where as the 3rd servant buried the possesions...

I see you as 1 of the 2 servants that put the master's possesions to use,.... for God entrusted to you MUSIC... and all of the choir members... and by being the leader of this choir, you are putting all of the talent that God gave us to use... which helps makes us good servants, and not like the servant that buried what his master gave him.

For this I pray that God gives you many more years and that he gives you the strenght to accomplish all that you want too....and that he also blesses you with your heart's desires.... in Matthew 7:7 it says those who ask shall receive, those who seek shall find, and those who knock, the door will be opened... and according to those words, I know that our prayers are already answered!

Thanks again Dr.Payne for the xmas gift... I bought my daughter a bunch of clothes today :) :) and I bought myself some makeup :) hihihi

GOD BLESS YOU !!!!!

(Sorry for the long msg.. I tend to do that )

Tammy ! xoxox

Mimi Mendy: Ma seconde famille

YES I DID!!!

Mimi

Joanès Dorcély ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Un site enchanteur!!

Iphi Ndiaye ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Une source d'énergie inébranlable

Merci .
