The Board of Advisors is committed to acting, at all times, in the best interests of the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir in a spirit of openness toward our supporters. They are generous volunteers who are on our board because of the professional attributes and experience they possess in providing and supporting leadership and because of their commitment to the Choir and to its supporters. Their determination to do what is best for the Choir is their guiding principle.

Braide, Robbie D.

Rob Braide is President of Braide Media, a multi-media consulting company based in Montreal.

Born April 4, 1953,  He wanted to get into radio the first time he heard Dave Boxer play the Beatles on CFOX in 1963. His parents were huge jazz fans and he grew up listening to Theloneous Monk, Art Blakey and Charlie Parker.

Hindley, James D., Chairman

Jim Hindley has been one of the two longest serving members of the Cedars Board. A good friend of Joe Chamandy, Jim was active on the Board for many years before he became President. During his tenure, he spearheaded the task force to study oncology projects at the hospital, which contributed to a new model for oncology at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Under Jim, the Cedars Golf Tournament was launched. He served as its Chair and mentor for 27 years bringing the golf tournament to monumental heights. A recent quote,” I may have retired from the Cedars Golf Tournament but I have never retired from Cedars.” FULL STORY

Jones, Dr. Oliver T.

Oliver Jones was born and raised in Saint Henri, a predominantly working class area of Montreal, several blocks from Peterson, and young Oliver would sit on the Peterson porch, listening to the older boy practice. Oscar's sister, Daisy Peterson Sweeney, became his first piano teacher, with lessons continuing for the next twelve years. These lessons solidified young Jones' skills, which were already considerable; Oliver was performing publicly at age five, and by the time he had his first nightclub appearance, he was nine.

Tarlton, Donald K.

Donald K Tarlton C.M. is the former CEO of Donald K Donald Productions and BCL Entertainment Corporation, two of Canada’s most celebrated and successful concert touring companies. As such, he was the impresario in Canada for most of the contemporary concert performers and superstar tours and festivals throughout the last half of the 20th century.

West, James M.

Jim West, President- Justin Time Records Inc. As the old expression goes, "Time flies when you're having fun." Well, time has sure flown by. Twenty-six years of some really outstanding recording sessions and over 375 total productions. It's interesting to note that our first three signings - Oliver Jones, Ranee Lee, and the Montreal Jubilation Choir [founded and directed by Trevor W. Payne] - are all still recording with us today.We are very proud of this fact, and, on a personal level, I'm extremely pleased to consider them all wonderful friends.
